Henrietta House

In June 2010 commercial real estate firm CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) secured new offices at Henrietta House in London's West End. This impressive building, occupying a total of 98,000 sq ft, was taken over by CBRE on an over-riding 15-year lease, allowing the company to manage the property on its own and on behalf of the landlord.

In 2011, Dealerward were appointed by 8Build to fit out the basement and group floor areas for CBRE, which included a number of unique commissions. After months of collaborating with CBRE architect Sava Mihajlov, a new light feature was designed comprising of LED light bands interspersed between lacquered MDF, which was installed over the main reception desk. This piece complemented a thick band of LED light running across the front panel of the reception desk and columns in the reception area.

Other unique features of the fit out included curved back-painted glass and illuminated wall panelling in the reception areas, and incorporated the use of less typical materials for this particular type of fit out such as Italian porcelain and bamboo. Acrylic strips were also integrated into the dark wooden veneer panelling lining the aisles to reinforce the design exhibited in the reception area.

For the in-house bar, stainless steel surfaces were adopted providing a stark contrast to the hardwood flooring composed of oak and American black walnut. Walls were reinforced with MDF paneling and finished with a sand dune effect. The project also included the design, construction and installation of a number of other items such as credenzas, showcase desking and washroom features.
